Bilaspur A case of triple talaq has come up in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. Police said that on the complaint of Noori Begum, resident of Adbhar village under Pendra police station area of the district, three divorce cases have been registered against Jumman Rizvi.
Noori Begum has alleged that she was married to Juman Rizvi, a resident of Ratanpur in 2005. A few years after the marriage, Jumman beat her and threw her out of the house. Noori was living in her maternal home for the last 10 years. She has filed a petition in the court demanding her husband’s expenses. The case was produced before the court on 12 September.
According to the police, in the evening after the hearing, while Noori Begum was on her way home from an autorickshaw, on the way, her husband Jumman came riding on a motorcycle and started quarreling with her. Jumman called her three times divorced and allegedly assaulted her, saying that they had broken the relationship.
Police said that after four days of the incident, the victim reached the women’s police station on Monday and lodged a complaint of crime. Pendra police station has registered a case against accused Jumman under sections 294, 323, and 506. Noori has said in her complaint that her husband called her three times a divorce and talked about ending the relationship. Not only this, he also threatened to kill Noori Begum.
